Essential Duties

INSPECTION:

Perform PPAP, First Article, New part, and receiving inspection of product in accordance with Customer and Internal Specifications, Requirements and/or Quality Plans, using precision measuring equipment, standard inspection gauges, and custom gauges.

Assist with in-process inspection

Responsible for complete record keeping of First Articles.

Records all inspection data on appropriate forms and creates and maintains files for all inspection documentation.

Read detailed prints to understand nominal and tolerance specifications.

Assist other Inspection/Quality staff as directed

Ensure the Quality area is maintained in a clean and orderly manner and adheres to all safety and health standards

Train and instruct new employees according to prescribed procedures and standards

Ensure that work is completed timely, efficiently, and that it meets optimal quality standards

Carry out routine departmental operations by meeting regularly with the Manager and informing them of critical departmental issues

Devise sampling procedures and directions for recording and reporting quality data

Weld inspection, as assigned

Perform troubleshooting of parts and processes and follows up on quality related issues

Performs data collection and capability studies.  Determines process capabilities

Serves as the Lead for quality inspectors

Responsibilities

Authority

Accurately records all inspection data on appropriate forms and creates and maintains files for all inspection documentation.

Enter Quality Records, communicate with Production and Engineering regarding status, and review with Director of Quality for disposition and possible corrective action

Maintain document management systems

Participate in quality audits and in developing quality plans

Carry out tasks in a safe manner in accordance with known and/or published safety policies

Draft quality assurance work Instructions, policies and procedures

Assist with investigating customer complaints and non-conformance issues, manages non-conformances

Assist is investigating supplier quality concerns and non-conformance issues

Develop, recommend, and monitor corrective and preventive actions

Collect and compile statistical quality data

Analyze data to identify areas for improvement in the quality system

Education and/or Experience

Quality certifications or at least 3 years in a quality assurance / inspection role

Calibration training and/or certification

Understanding of or training in Solidworks, Pro E, or other 3D software is beneficial

Prior quality auditing experience is beneficial

Computer literate including ability to learn our ERP and effectively use Microsoft applications

Detail oriented with strong commitment to quality

Experience in sheet metal fabrication, welding, and machine shop operations

Knowledge of tools, concepts, and methodologies

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

Constant standing and walking required       

Regularly required to bend, stoop, squat, kneel and reach

Regularly required to lift and move materials
