Job Description

Job Title: Supervisor


  • Take full responsibility of the shift in terms of management and staff, management of production and quality targets, and ensure the smooth running of the production processes
  • Take full responsibility of the quality and product that is produced within the shift to make sure it is in line with the company’s quality systems, processes, and procedures
  • Manage, develop, and motivate direct reporting staff
  • Monitor, measure, and report on production related process performance
  • Ensure that good communication is given verbally or written to all members of staff including senior management
  • Ensure that Health and Safety rules and regulations are adhered to during the shift and all matters relating to this are dealt with using the resources within the company
  • Demonstrate problem solving and trouble shooting skills to ensure that all employees can identify root causes and take effective action to resolve the problems
  • Work closely with other Production Supervisors, Leads, and Director of Operations to ensure production goals are being met
  • Train employees and develop personal growth opportunities
  • Have an active role in the company’s continuous improvement plan to achieve plans for future growth within the company
  • Responsible for confirming that company resources are used in an effective manner to ensure best operating costs
  • Complete production plan by assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; and reporting results of the manufacturing process
  • Communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures
  • Resolve personnel problems by analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending action
  • Maintain work flow by monitoring steps of the manufacturing process; setting process variables; monitoring personnel and resources; studying methods; implementing cost reductions; developing reporting procedures and systems; and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between all departments

  • Recognition of nonconforming products and services
  • To have a basic understanding of the ISO Quality and Documentation System
  • Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformities relating to product, process, and/or quality system
  • Participate as required in quality audits and in developing quality plans
  • Carry out tasks in a safe manner in accordance with known and/or published safety policies
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area


  • Effect any change(s) necessary to control and maintain the Falls Fabricating LLC, ISO-9001:2008 Quality System
  • Initiate corrective and preventive actions as necessary to support ISO-9001:2008 registration/certification
  • Stop production if any process adversely affects product quality


  • Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical, industrial, or manufacturing engineering and/or a minimum of 5 years supervisory experience in an operational role in a precision sheet metal fabrication and machine shop environment or combination of the two

  • Other required or recommended knowledge, skills or abilities:
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point
  • Vantage ERP System Experience


  • Mobility within the work facility
  • Will perform repetitive movement with hands when typing
  • Communicating with others both verbally and written
  • Requires ability to sit at a desk for a majority of the time
